Dish Liquid FAQ's

FAQ's

How to load a dishwasher properly?

When you’re loading a dishwasher, it helps to put dishes in the best position for cleaning. Load all dirty dishes so they’re separated and facing the center, and always put plastic items on the top rack of the dishwasher.
[Actionpac dishwashing detergents are formulated to clean even the fullest dishwasher. So go ahead and load it up!]
You can begin by placing large platters, cookie sheets, baking dishes and pans around the perimeter of the bottom drawer. Next, add your plates. Stagger large dinner plates and smaller salad plates to give each dish more exposure. Set large and medium-size bowls in the remaining space in a slanted or completely downward position for optimal cleaning. Place dirty silverware in the cutlery container.
To organize the top drawer, line downward-facing glasses and mugs along the outer edges.  Add bowls and extra-small saucers to the center section, placing each on a slant to create extra space. As a rule, the bottom drawer of your dishwasher is exposed to more heat than the top, so place plastic items on the higher drawer to avoid melting and warping.
Gently nest stemware along the left-hand side—many dishwashers feature a protective holder for these items. Be sure to check the height of your stemware before closing the drawer to avoid broken glass! In the small pockets of space between your top drawer dishes, lay long, slender items like tongs and spatulas.
Last, make sure no items are blocking the sprayer arms, which can prevent water from reaching all of your dishes.

Our dish products are designed to work effectively in multiple water hardnesses. Our dishwasher pacs are formulated with water softeners to help fight hard water deposits on your dishes and as always are the perfect dose.
When hand washing dishes, keep in mind that water hardness plays a role in the amount of detergent you’ll need to use to get the best clean. Generally, soft water requires less product while hard water requires more. Start with any usage recommendations on the product package. Next, check with your local water utility service to find out the hardness rating for water in your area and adjust accordingly.

Yes. A good rule of thumb is to leave out wood, iron, china, crystal, silver and aluminium.  Fairy Original is a great choice for those items that should be hand washed, as these items can be permanently discoloured or damaged in the dishwasher.  Follow the manufacturer’s recommendation on what is dishwasher safe. Why do I have un-dissolved detergent and dishwasher soap residue  in the dispenser?

Causes:
Un-dissolved detergent can be caused by using slow dissolving detergents in too cool or a short wash. Undissolved detergent can also be caused when washing dishes if the water spray is not effectively flushing the dispenser or by detergent that is being blocked from opening fully due to inappropriate loading.
Prevention:
*You can prevent un-dissolved detergent by checking the spray arms to ensure it rotates freely and is not prevented from rotating freely during the wash due to inappropriate loading.
*Check holes on arm are not blocked
*Ensure nothing blocks the dispenser during the wash
*Perform a second wash with no items in the dishwasher and no detergent to remove any un-dissolved detergent

Should I use dish liquid in my clothes washing machine?

Although we've heard of some creative home cleaning solutions, we do not recommend using hand dishwashing liquid or other cleaning products as substitute or additive for clothes detergent. All other types of detergents or soaps produce too many suds for the water action to clean your clothes. Too many suds may also cause a washing machine to overflow, which can be damaging to the machine and the surface around it.

Can I use dish liquid in my automatic dishwashing machine?

Dishwasher detergents are very specialised for use in the dishwasher. One of its most important features is low-suds. Dish detergent also helps give water the properties it needs to loosen stuck-on food particles and greasy residues without leaving water spots behind. Too much foam from hand dish detergent can weaken the washing action and cause dishwasher to overflow, which can be damaging to the dishwasher and the surface around it.

How do I use an action pac product?

Action pacs are easy to use because they require no pre-measuring.
Just use one concentrated pouch for each load of dishes. To use one, place it in the closable dispenser cup and secure the lid on the closed cup. Here are more tips:
• Do not unwrap or puncture pouch – they will dissolve quickly on their own during pre-wash
• Handle with dry hands only
• Place pouch into main dispenser cup and close immediately
• Reseal bag / tub after each use
No need to pre-rinse if you use our Fairy Platinum actionpacs, because they power away 24 hour stuck-on food, to give you the shine you expect from Fairy.
My dishwasher manual says to fill both cups with detergent?  Do I need to use two action pacs?
Actually, you only need one actionpac because the formula is concentrated. It’s designed to offer a convenient, easy way to dose detergent with no pre-measuring.  With an actionpac, the pre-wash cycle will not get a dosing of detergent, but the concentrated power in the tablets that's released in the wash cycle will compensate.
